Planning a trip can be a bit stressful if you don’t know where to start, if you’re short on time, if it’s a long trip or if you’ve never done it before. If you’re stressed out about organizing a trip on your own, keep reading because this guide is for you.
Choose your destination
The first step in planning a trip is to know where you want to go. Choose a destination that fits your interests and budget.
How much time do you have?
Depending on how much time you have for your trip, choose a more or less distant destination. For example, if you have a week’s holiday, choose a destination that is 5 hours away by plane (or car). Don’t waste your time going back and forth, it’s better to enjoy it in your chosen place.
Who do you travel with?
When you plan a trip you have to take into account the opinions and tastes of others. What I do, as I am usually the one who organizes the trip, is: first I choose the destination, then I tell the others. Sometimes my uncles sign up, sometimes my sister and brother-in-law and most of the time we go by ourselves.
Book accommodation for your trip
Accommodation is another major expense that a trip usually entails.
We don’t usually go to the cheapest ones, but looking for a good value for money. But when we travel with more people, it usually compensates to go to apartments, in booking each time they have a better selection and for four people it usually is cheaper than 2 rooms in a hotel. It’s also a good idea for families, as you can cook, wash clothes, etc.
How to move at the destination
Another thing you have to keep in mind when you are planning your trip, is to know the different transportation options that are available in the destination you have chosen. When planning your trip, include this search. Knowing what the means of transport are at your destination and how to use them will save you time and stress!
What to see and visit?
When you plan your trip, you want to know what are the must-see places to visit, what are the best free things to do and what are the best excursions at your destination. Although we love to improvise on our trips, it’s always good to have an idea of what you can do, the must-see places, the most popular ones, where to catch beautiful sunsets, etc.
Where to eat and drink?
Food and drink are a very good way to get to know a destination. In fact, there are many people who organize their trips around this theme and it has become the favorite way of traveling for more than one. Is it also yours?
We love to taste the local cuisine and its drinks. We like to know the restaurants, bars and cafes that the locals visit, we also visit those in the tourist areas when you have no other choice, although these are usually more expensive.
